Merry Christmas to all, I hope you had a great day surrounded by family and friends!

Now, let get to this game.  The Tennessee Titans are on the brink of an unheard of accomplishment, making the playoffs after starting the season 0-6.  One problem, or should I say, one huge obstacle, they have to beat the Chargers tonight.  Vince Young has really played well since taking over this football team.  I’m not just talking about running and being athletic either, I mean his progressions in the pocket, and how he looks to find open receivers before he even considers running the ball.  I have been impressed, and I am also very impressed with the play of Chris Johnson.  Johnson is having a remarkable year, especially for a team that really played poorly the first month and a half of the season.  Additionally, Johnson’s play has relegated Lendale White, a good back in his own right, to the backround. The Titans have an excellent opporuttinity, but losing a key player in Kieth Bullock will certinly hurt.

Everyone talks about the Colts, and rightfully so, but The San Diego Chargers are probable the best team in the AFC right now.  Philip Rivers is having another monster season, aided by the excellent play of  Antonio Gates & Vincent Jackson.  Oh by the way, the Chargers have won 17 straight games in December too.  Things have fallen into place after a shaky start to the season and Rivers is a big reason. The Chargers defense has also been playing well the past several weeks.  They run well, and are physical at the point of attack. They will need both attributes to contain Chris Johnson tonight.  The Titans can win this game, but I don’t see the Chargers failing to be prepared.  A victory for San Diego assures them of a 1st round bye.  My Pick: Chargers
