By now you have surely heard that Lane Kiffin got a verbal commitment from a 13 year old QB.  So I wanted to know, is 13 too young to receive oral commitments? Too young to even consider recruiting?

Well, my two cents are simple.  Yes, it is too early. Unless of course the kid is my own!  In all seriousness, I do think that it is to early.  For several reasons, mainly because he is a KID. What happens if the KID does not develop the way you hoped? You could get stuck, if you honor the commitment, with a kid who may not develop the way you anticipate.  Seriously, 13? I’m not sure I know many 13 year olds who know what gaming system they like the best, much less what school they want to attend, years down the line.  Come on now.
