This book was sent to my mother from another associate of Ali. The reason it was sent to us, serves as the reason it is the throwback picture of the day. The gentlemen [in the suglasses] holding Ali back from his appparent rage, is my father, James Anderson.

I cannot tell you how cool it is to discovery things like this, especially after losing my Dad in 2009.

RIP Dad!

My life has been a rather amazing journey. I realize this when I look back on the things I’ve done, and the people I have meet, along the way.

One such person is Elizabeth Taylor. When my Father, James Anderson, worked for Michael Jackson, you never knew who was going to show up to a concert.

One such show, Elizabeth Taylor was set to appear. Backstage, as Micheal would greet guest, I was fortunate enough to be there! In the room, as celebrities, and other dignitaries would meet Michael. I was with my Mom, Zenobia, as my Dad instructed us that we would be sitting with a lot of famous people.

In comes Elizabeth Taylor. Of course the room was a buzz at Mrs. Taylor’s appearance. What struck me, as a child, was how Elizabeth Taylor greeted, with a warmth, every person who approached her. As the lights flickered to indicate the show was about to start. We were all whisked away to out seats by security.

When we arrived to our seats, I was shocked to see that Elizabeth Taylor was sitting right next to us. The fans were freaking out, and frankly, I was a bit scared by all the hype. I am going to assume that Elizabeth Taylor realized this, because I felt a hand grab mine. I looked up and realized that is was Elizabeth Taylor. When she saw me look up, she said to me, “It’s ok, this is going to be a great show, don’t worry about the fans. They just want to convey their love.” I did not think I was in trouble, but to have Elizabeth Taylor say those things to me, made not only me, but my Mom smile.

That was Elizabeth Taylor. She knew she was a mega star, but she also knew how to make everyone around her feel special.

I am certain, as we mourn her passing, that she is happy. Especially knowing that she is back with her best friend, Michael Jackson.

Rest in peace Elizabeth Taylor. Thank you for your contributions to your art, and to society. You have secured your legacy for eternity!

NY Giants Gerris Wilkinson & Green Bay Packers Ryan Grant

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The first-ever Maloof Money Cup New York, presented by Vans, came to a close today as the Volcom Street Pro Finals and World Industries Am contest capped off two days of amazing competition. Held at the newly constructed Maloof Cup skatepark in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens, the event brought out more than 25,000 skateboarding fans, many camping out overnight in anticipation. Celebrity guests including Susan Sarandon, NY Jets Quarterback Mark Sanchez, Jamie Lynn Sigler, Lil Jon, Gossip Girl’s Matthew Settle, NY Giants players Alan Coats and Gerris Wilkinson and former Atlanta Falcon Jamal Anderson were also on hand as skateboarding’s biggest names christened the newly constructed park that will be donated to the City next week thanks to Vans and the NYC Parks & Recreation Department’s “Adopt-a-Park” program.

Reigning MMC Champ Chris Cole went head-to-head with 2008 Maloof Money Cup Champ Paul Rodriguez in the finals. The packed house braved temperatures reaching 90-degrees to watch the 12 finalists battle it out for skateboarding’s largest prize purse. The stage for the competition was a brand new skater-designed street course incorporating features modeled after iconic NY skate spots such as the Brooklyn Banks and the Flushing Meadows ledge over the grate.

Once again, Chris Cole came out to win, landing a backside 270 lipslide on the 9-stair rail, a front blunt to fakie and a huge switch 360 flip. P-Rod and Cole were neck-and-neck throughout the finals and P-Rod’s switch frontside smith grind on the big rail and a perfect switchflip on the 9-stair rail made it a historic race for NY’s first-ever Maloof Money Cup title. Third place finisher and Tech Deck Best Trick winner Torey Pudwill landed an amazing backside smith grind up the 3-stair hubba that moved the crowd to its feet and Frenchman Bastien Salabanzi amazed the crowd with some truly inspiring skateboarding.

2010 MMC NYC Final Results:

1. Chris Cole — $100,000
2. Paul Rodriguez — $40,000
3. Torey Pudwill — $25,000

I can’t recall ever seeing any Nikes like these ever before. The designer, Gabriel Dishaw creates all different types of art, using junk materials. You should check out his site because he has some pretty interesting pieces on there. I wanted to show you a few examples, of his Nike sculptures.

I don’t know about you, but I would wear them! There are Air Yeezy’s, now Nike Junkeezy’s.
Actually, Dishaw call’s them “Blazer Pentium 1.0″, “Frankenstein Terminators” & “Junk Dunk”.
