“Atlanta Falcons are a nice team, thats made it three of the last four years (Playoffs)….. Unfortunately they’ve got no right moving on, they should be ashamed of themselves… You’ve got to be able man up against the best teams.” And with those words, Chris Berman summed up the Falcons latest playoff exit. Man up. Yes, he said that.

I guess we cannot be surprised. Failing two convert on TWO fourth down conversions. You’ll get a lot of that rhetoric. What appeared on the onset to look like a good match up turned completely one-sided as the Falcons were shown the door for the third time in four years. I tweeted my shock yesterday at the ineffectiveness of an offense with so many weapons. I not lost anymore, just disappointed in a unit that produces so little in a major situation. A four thousand yard passer, a thirteen hundred yard rusher, (two) thousand yard receivers, plus a first ballot Hall of Fame tight end, ZERO points.

When I think back to how great Tony Gonzalez has been, it saddens me to see another awful playoff exit. And what of the QB we call Matty Ice? Well, he appears to thaw out in the worst possible ways in the playoffs. Here’s the thing, IF you owned season tickets to the Falcons
the past four years, chances are you went home from the Dome with a big smile on your face. You can discount that Matt Ryan wins an awful lot at home. Playoffs, not so. Two of three have been on the road. To win a title, you have to be able to win on the road. WIN ON THE ROAD.
I think those days can come for Ryan, I am just as sure the Falcons are praying for as much.

A tale of two games for the Falcons defensively. They started aggressively, and tapered off just as aggressively. Additionally, we learned they have lost their coordinator, Brian Van Goerter. Timing is everything, and well, maybe it was his time. I am confident if the fact the Falcons have good young linebackers in Weatherspoon & Lofton. Grimes being absent hurt, but you can’t make excuses, you have to make plays. Clearly, that did not happen.

Let me give credit to the New York Giants for their victory yesterday. Eli Manning once again showed up in a big way for the Giants. Brandon Jacobs, Hakeem Nicks and a stingy Giants defense that was ready to play. With dominant defensive front reminiscent of their last Super Bowl run we’ll see if the Giants can beat the Packers. At least they get a shot, and they have earned it.

Disappointing performance yesterday, there is no doubt. Still, If you are a Falcon fan don’t despair, there is no doubt in my mind that this organization is intent on winning consistently, and reaching the upper echelon of NFL teams.

Very few games have such an effect on people that it causes them to call out sick from work, reschedule meetings and skip class. “Call of Duty : Black Ops” is classified as one of these games. Still on the heels of the insanely popular and record breaking “Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2,” Treyarch brings us Black Ops, which bottles the Duty experience we love, along with a few pleasant surprises. The game is set in the early 1960’s and begins with a fast paced mission in which you have to assassinate the world famous Cuban dictator, Fidel Castro, how is that for starting off with a bang? I must say that the campaign mode is consistent with the Call of Duty series with it being challenging and fun, without being too time consuming and puzzling. Along the way while in campaign mode you will notice a few familiar faces, the late Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara & the late former President John F. Kennedy. Being able to perform a mission for those 2 iconic figures was pretty awesome to say the least.

Once you’ve completed the campaign mode, you’re thrown directly into the wildly infections “Zombie Mode.” It’s a really big surprise so I won’t give away the details as to who you are playing as while fighting off the endless hordes of undead soldiers. There are only 2 playable levels for Zombies, but I’m positive that there will be new maps available as downloadable content. If you’re a fan of the “Nazi Zombies” mode in “Call of Duty : World at War,” you will not be disappointed at all. Now on to the multiplayer, this truly defines the Call of Duty experience, this is where the men are separated from the “noobs.” The gameplay is traditional, the man with the quickest gun and the best aim, will come out on top a majority of the time. There are a few differences with the Killstreak bonus and the introduction of “Money” to unlock new weapon attachments, clan tags & tactical equipment. Unlike Modern Warfare 2 where you have Killstreak bonuses that end at 25 straight kills to gain a match ending Nuke, Black Ops caps the Killstreak bonus at 11. The ability to customize Killstreaks is included which is a nice touch and gives the experience a bit of variety. The gameplay is also more realistic. If you played MW2 you’ve probably had a “Running Class” where you equipped Marathon & Lightweight and ran across the map like Ussain Bolt and never paused for a breather. Black Ops has taken that feature out, thankfully, and extended bullet damage and Deathstreaks such as Martyrdom & Painkiller are missing as well. It really gives the game that REAL war experience, which I really do enjoy, it also doesn’t bail out a noob that is getting his lunch handed to him in a match.

The array of weapons that you can use are pretty good as well. Modern Warfare 2 fans will be saddened by the absence of the Tar-21 or the UMP45, but I’m finding that the AK-47u in Black Ops does the trick quite well. The major difference in Multiplayer is that when you gain rank with Experience Points (XP), instead of just being awarded a new gun, you have to use the “Money” you’ve gained in online matches to purchase the gun. This goes the same for the weapon attachments on the gun that you choose, as well as the Killstreak bonuses, the in game perks such as Scavenger & Marathon and tactical equipment such as grenades and ballistic knife. Personally I like the new challenge of not just being given the weapon, having to choose wisely or be stuck with a crap gun for 5-10 matches and sacrificing the holy “Kill to Death Ratio or KTD.” Overall I would strongly suggest that you add “Call of Duty : Black Ops” to your game library. It will provide you hours of fun and the better you are, the more bragging rights you can have amongst your friends. If you happen to have a Playstation 3, add me at “ThePrince1934″, I must warn you though, I’m pretty darn good, so bring your “A” game.

Oh almost forgot, you’ll notice that you’re in a chair in restraints at the menu of the game, flick the triggers simultaneously (R1 & L1 for PS3 users) once free from the chair, walk to the left and you’ll notice a computer, type “DOA” into the password and see what happens. You’re welcome.

Well, we lost the signature event of these Olympic games, but how can we be made at our team? Nobody thought USA Hockey would even get a medal, much less be playing for the Gold medal. I am proud of our team, but like them this lost stings.

As a country we once again lead everyone with a record 37 medals. USA Bobsledding also captured Olympics gold lead by former UTE, Steve Holcomb. You know I had to get that plug in!

Shani Davis, Apollo Anton Ono, Ryan Miller, Bode Miller & Sean White were clearly the Stars of these games, in addition to our hockey team. I watched as much coverage as I could, but like most of you, the networks decisions on what to air, and when were frustrating for all. No complaints about 37 medals!!!! Go USA!
